The Prime Minister may use the title 'Honourable' while they are prime minster and for the rest of their life. This title reflects the honour and responsibility of their role.
Other members of parliament can also use the title 'Honourable', including:
- members or senators who are or have been ministers,
- the President of the Senate
- the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
