If a new law is made, is it added to the Constitution? Or is it put somewhere else?

Thanks for the question Jack. Only laws that change the Australian Constitution are added to the Constitution. Such a change can only be made if Australians agree in a referendum. A proposed change must be approved by the Australian Parliament before it can be put to the Australian people.

All Australian laws, including changes to the Constitution, are listed on the Federal Register of Legislation.

Description

The House of Representatives is a large room with green furnishings. The seats are arranged in rows around a large central table. There is a large chair at the open end of the U-shaped seats that is elevated above the other chairs where the Speaker sits. Members of the House of Representatives sit in the U-shaped seats. Members of the public and the press sit observing from the balconies above the House.
