A change to the national anthem

On 1 January 2021 the Governor-General, His Excellency, General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Rtd), on the advice of the Government, issued a proclamation which changed the second line of the Australian national anthem from ‘For we are young and free’ to ‘For we are one and free’.
