In his statement, Mr Milton Dick MP, the Member for Oxley, said school students had asked him why this parliamentary session isn’t called ‘answer time’. Mr Dick told the House, ‘I thought that was a really good suggestion. When you ask questions, you expect answers. I've got my own feedback from a number of my schools and I'm looking forward to the committee continuing to engage with and listen to the wider community, particularly young people.’
Members of the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Procedure made statements to the Parliament about the committee’s inquiry into how Question Time operates. The committee conducted an online survey and accepted written submissions on this issue. A report will be prepared and presented to the Parliament.
