Coming in 2010: More Videos
In 2009, the PEO introduced an innovative new Multimedia section to the PEO website. Videos in this section include the PEO Role-Play in Action and the first two videos of an online series explaining how Parliament works. This year, the PEO will continue to produce parliamentary videos on a range of subjects including parliamentary committees, parliamentary privilege and the opening of parliament.
Subject Lesson Plans
The PEO will soon introduce a new resource for middle to upper secondary teachers. Subject Lesson Plans use parliamentary concepts and processes to explore topics that can be applied to any school curriculum. In this way, students learn about the parliament as well as their curriculum subject. Subject lesson plans will cover topics such as global warming, economic recession and conscription.
